In November 1775, the first casualty-causing battle in the South during the American War for Independence occurred. Students worked with Dr. Rausch to re-fight the battle using miniature soldiers as an experiment to see what would have happened had the battle been fought differently. For instance, historically, Loyalist militia refused to launch a frontal assault on Patriot (Whig) defenders, so they tried doing so (it did not end well for the militia).
These videos show the outcomes of their efforts.
The Facts
An article written about the battle, with a focus on why casualties were so low, was published by the Journal of the American Revolution and is available here.
Dr. Rausch was later interviewed by the journal, and that interview was posted here.
