College of Science & Mathematics

Discover a bright future in STEM

You’re naturally curious - always wondering how things work, asking big questions or thinking through challenging problems. At Lander University, the College of Science and Mathematics will give you the tools to turn that curiosity into knowledge and skills you can use in your future career. Whether you’re interested in studying chemistry, forensic science, biology, environmental science, mathematics or engineering, or one of our pre-allied health programs, you’ll find a program here that matches your interests and goals.

At Lander, learning goes beyond the classroom. You might work on research with a professor, take part in a summer internship or study abroad for a semester. Our small class sizes mean your professors will know your name, support your growth and challenge you to think deeper. Along the way, you’ll gain the problem-solving, communication and critical thinking skills that set you up for success wherever your path leads next—whether that’s immediately into the workforce or to graduate school.

Outside the Classroom

In the College of Science and Mathematics, learning isn’t limited to the traditional classroom space. Here are some ways our students take their learning to new levels:

  • Internships: Gain real-world experience and make professional connections, all while earning credit towards your degree program. Our faculty have relationships, in Greenwood and beyond, that can help you find the right internship for you.
  • Travel as Education: Experience another culture for yourself by living and studying abroad. Or join your classmates and professors on a short-term study tour.
  • Research: Lander regularly sends our students to regional and national conferences to showcase their research projects. Students also have the opportunity to participate in the annual Academic Symposium, held on campus each spring.
