The baccalaureate degree program in nursing and the master’s degree program in nursing at Lander University are accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education. (https://www.ccneaccreditation.org)

 

Honors Programming

A nursing honors synthesis is also available, promoting the development of the graduate nurse as scholar, leader and world citizen from a global awareness perspective. This course culminates with a project which requires either a presentation at a professional meeting or the submission of an article for publication in a professional journal.

Our graduates will use clinical reasoning and critical thinking kills to be competent, flexible, transformative professionals who meet the complex healthcare needs of the 21st century.

 

Workforce Ready

Nursing is one of the most exciting and rewarding careers. Our graduates achieve some of the highest scores in the state on the rigorous National Council Licensure Exam (NCLEX), making our Lander nursing alumni among the first to receive jobs.

Our nursing students receive highly individualized academic and clinical education from our faculty and clinical partners. Lander’s Self Regional Healthcare Nursing Skills Simulation Center features some of the nation’s most advanced resources in nursing education. This state-of-the-art facility is part of Lander’s deep commitment to nursing education.

In addition to classes at Barrett Hall, nursing education will expand to a new building in 2026 which will feature additional simulation labs, classrooms, laboratory monitoring rooms and study areas. With this facility, three buildings will be dedicated to training nurses for outstanding careers.

Lander also has a slate of graduate degrees that will unlock even more career potential.

 

The Career Promise

At Lander University, we promise that you will find a job within the first 60 days of graduation. If you don’t, we want you to work for us. We believe in what we teach, and we know our students are set up for success. That’s our Career Promise to Lander graduates: if you aren’t able to find a job within 60 days of graduating, Lander will hire you as a graduate assistant and guarantee your admission into the Lander graduate program of your choice.*

*To qualify for this program, students must graduate from Lander within four years and earn a grade-point average of 3.0 or higher. Additional admissions requirements may apply for specific graduate programs.

 

Outside the Classroom

In the William Preston Turner School of Nursing, learning isn’t confined to the traditional classroom space. Here are a few ways you can take your education to new levels:

  • Scholarship: In partnership with Self Regional Healthcare, Lander’s School of Nursing offers the highly competitive Self Regional Scholars Program, which awards $10,000 to upper-level junior nursing majors, giving them the opportunity to study and earn money for their education.
  • CARE Program: The Clinical Accelerated Readiness (CARE) Program with Self Regional Healthcare helps students gain experience in clinical settings while receiving a stipend for their education.
  • Research: Lander regularly sends our students to regional and national conferences to showcase their research projects. Students also have the opportunity to participate in the annual Academic Symposium, held on campus each spring.
  • Travel as Education: Experience another culture for yourself by living and studying abroad. Or join your classmates and professors on a short-term study tour.
