PEES 451 - Physical Ed Teaching Concerns
This course provides the student with the knowledge, skills and resources to develop a philosophical position and curricular materials consistent with that position and with the state and national guidelines. Units of instruction (elementary and secondary) are developed showing evidence of the integration of both state and national standards. The pre-service teacher is apprised of current South Carolina requirements of physical education relative to assessment and evaluation protocols. Students also gain an understanding and working knowledge of ADEPT (assisting, developing, and evaluating professional teaching) procedures, the evaluation process used during the student teaching experience. Students are encouraged to implement their secondary unit of instruction in PEES 422. Corequisite: PEES 422. Prerequisites: "C" or better inPEES 320 and 324 and Admission to Teacher Education Program. Three credit hours.
