CHEM 360 - Toxicology |
Basic principles of toxicology including quantitation of toxicity, biochemical action of toxicants, and population effects of poisons are studied. Both legacy and emerging contaminants are addressed (pesticides, industrial pollutants, metals, pharmaceuticals) in the context of sources, sinks, and efforts to create regulations. Prerequisites: CHEM 221 and BIOL 112. Three hours lecture weekly. Three semester hours.
