BIOL 312 - Genetics |
This course is an introduction to the history and fundamental principles of genetics and patterns of inheritance. Topics include classical Mendelian genetics, genetic mapping, and a survey of microbial, biochemical, human, and population genetics. The laboratory provides an introduction to the basic methods of genetic research and genetic analysis. Three hours lecture, three hours laboratory weekly. Prerequisites: CHEM 221 and “C” or better in BIOL 111, BIOL 112, and BIOL 299. Four semester hours.
